The Cisco certification program , as announced a few months ago at the Cisco Live event , faces a great adjustment as of today, with several new features . Among them is the addition of a new program focused on programming to its offering, in addition to showing that its managers continue to refine their main certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate ( CCNA ), Cisco Certifies Network Professional ( CCNP ) and Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert ( CCIE ).
The reason for these changes was also to cover the existence of gaps in the certification curriculum . Job descriptions that appeared seeking to attract network professionals increasingly included skills not covered by the CCNA, CCNP, and CCIE certificates. This is highlighted by Derek Winchester , one of the members of the Cisco CCIE Advisory Council . Spotting these eggs, Winchester and others began lobbying a few months ago for noticeable changes to be made within the program. Not just incremental advancements, like the addition of emerging technology topics, to certification exams.

Cisco certification managers hope that more focused programs and pathways and new certifications will fill the skills gap that both those who want to hire professionals are finding when they undertake their training.
